What You Should Take With You
Swamp tours are a great way to explore the Everglades wildlife and are ones of those adventures you must try at least once in your lifetime. Just like any adventure, airboat rides Florida Everglades requires a little preparation. Making sure you take the essentials with you is vital for a great time. This page is all about making sure you don’t forget anything and take everything you will need. It is not a lot, but it will make you safe and at ease during your trip. Here are the essentials you need to take with you:
THE RIGHT CLOTHING, COMFORTABLE & PRACTICAL
Venturing in the wildlife requires practical clothing, no need for anything expensive and fashionable. We recommend you not bring expensive jewelry and instead keep to the bare essentials. Just get shorts, a t-shirt, sandals, flip-flops, or sneakers during the summer. As the weather is a bit colder during the fall and winter, we suggest bringing longer sleeves, jeans, trainers, and even a windbreaker. Airboat rides can get pretty windy, so the windbreakers are a good idea during colder seasons.
STAY COVERED WITH A PONCHO & SUNGLASSES
Another great item of clothing to bring with you is a poncho for any season, just if it gets a little wet out there. Lastly and still very important, make sure to take some sunglasses with you. Polarized sunglasses are the best to use as they offer great visibility and avoid glare.
YOUR CAMERA FOR THE BEST WILDLIFE PHOTOS
You will get to witness the beautiful nature of the Florida Everglades, and you might come across an alligator. It is the perfect opportunity to snap that unique picture. Whether you are an avid wildlife observer or only here for the ride, take your camera and immortalize the moment with some photos of the Florida Everglades. Keep them in an album, or share them online, mark the moment with some great images.
SEE FURTHER WITH YOUR BINOCULARS
There is a lot to explore and a lot to see in the Everglades. Some things will be right in front of you, while others will take place further down at a distance. Taking your binoculars is the best way to see nature ahead. It gives you more scope to witness even more amazing things. Catch that alligator further down the stream and observe more animals in their natural habitat with your trusty binoculars.
STAY HYDRATED, BRING SOME LIQUIDS
Swamp tours can get pretty hot, especially in Florida’s sunny climate. The best and safest way to face that heat is always to stay appropriately hydrated. Our boats come equipped with a cooler and some bottled water. Feel free to bring your favorite soda, it will work wonders too. Take your soda in a bottle, or even a flask, we can put it in the cooler for you.
STAY ENERGETIC, BRING A SNACK
We know people like to feed the animals, but those snacks are just for you. The open-air on swamp tours could make you hungry. If anything, a little snack works excellent at bringing back some energy if you start to feel a bit tired. Food is good; take some with you to stay on the safe side.
AVOID SUNBURN, TAKE SUNSCREEN
The sun is a widespread occurrence in Florida, and there is no need to get burnt by it. Take your sunscreen with you to keep your skin protected. Don’t let the windy nature of an airboat ride fool you; the sun can still get you even when you don’t feel it. It is all about you having a good time and staying safe throughout your experience.
STAY AWAY FROM BUGS, BRING BUG SPRAY
Bugs are a thing in Florida, and you will encounter a few during your ride. Using bug spray will considerably reduce your encounters with insects. No point getting bitten when all you have to do is spray a little. Be kind to your skin, and your boat ride will be even more fun.
